So yesterday, Jan 25, 2020, I attended my first bridal expo. What a whirlwind! There was a lot going on, and my head started to spin a bit. I'm not sure if it actually helped in our wedding planning journey or not, but we got to talk to a lot of people, see some creative ideas, and pad my junk mail with all of the vendors who are going to be contact me now! I thought I would take a minute to highlight some of the exhibitors that I collected literature from.  Please bear in mind this is only a small sample representation of those who were present -I am pretty sure I gave out my contact info more than I collected from them!  It's also notable to mention that this day was the 2nd anniversary of our first official date, when we had dinner at Esca in Middletown.

A big thanks to my mom Cathy Culver, my Man of Honor Dave Korman (@korproductions), and our Flower Girl Julia Korman for attending with us!

First off, a big shout out to Jenks Productions (@jenksproduction) (https://www.jenksproductions.com/) who put on this show. We arrived at The Oakdale Theatre (@OakdaleTheatre) in Wallingford, CT to realize that the groom and my Man of Honor Dave both know Wesley Jenks of Jenks Productions from high school. He was very friendly and accommodating to our party. The show looked great and everything was very well organized.

Dinner4Two

 Dinner4Two -  Although I am not sure we are interested in attending a "culinary demonstration," this company won me over with their adorable black, white, and red polka dot color scheme. As in, I absolutely love it. When going through the takeaways from the expo today, I was most excited to find this cute little rubber spatula that I hadn't realized was in the bottom of my bag from them. Ah, the simple things that make me happy.

Taylor Rentals

Taylor Rentals, Nina Tiso Event Coordinator wins my award for least in your face presentation. She simply provided goody bags with her card and candy for the attendees, instead of asking us to fill out a form with our contact info (I have no idea what some of the forms I filled out were even for!!!)  Since we already have a venue that includes all of this stuff, and probably don't need to rent anything, here is a great company to look at for anyone who does!taylor-rentals.com

So this one felt really weird and out of place at the wedding expo. But kudos for effort. JC Models Ct is scouting for child models/actors out of Rocky Hill, CT.

Libero Jewelers

Libero Jewelers wins my award for fanciest printing I was given, which is funny because I would have expected that to be a photographer. Looks like they are having a wedding band event at their New Haven store on March 14th, where they will be giving out a free men's band! info@liberojewelers.com

Michaels Jewelers

The other jeweler we spoke with is Michaels Jewelers. They were very friendly and knowledgable. They were kind enough to measure Adam's ring size for him, since he had no idea! They even gave us a 10% off coupon.

Graduate New Haven Hotel

We met with representatives of Graduate New Haven hotel. They provided us with a book of their properties located near different universities in the country. My biggest take away from this conversation is that they are currently working on a new location in Storrs near UCONN. They did, however, give us a great tote bag to add to our grocery shopping pile, and a pendant sticker.

Kathy Faber Designs put on a great fashion show that we watched. Afterward, my flower girl got to go on stage for a dance contest!

Men's Wearhouse

While Men's Wearhouse certainly doesn't need a shout out from me, I had to include them for one reason. They gave out these amazingly-large tote bags that will be perfect for toting all of our accessories and must-haves on the wedding day!

Too bad their coupon is for free grooms rental with SIX paid packages (we won't have that many...)
